What's this single bite on my dog? Is it a mosquito or bug bite?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 6 years and 7 months old | 15 lbs

My dog is on flea and tick prevention, and I thought this might be a mosquito bite. There's just one. Been monitoring for hours, haven't seen a change in size/shape/color/elevation (not elevated currently), but I want a second opinion please! :)

This is probably a bug or fly bite. They are quite common this time of the year. Monitor for resolution in a couple days. There is likely no cause for concern unless Pickle develops lethargy, fever, loss of appetite or pain.
