My dog has allergies, Apoquel is too expensive. What are alternatives?

11 year old Chiquita has suddenly gotten a skin/ allergy condition. She was proscribed Aqoquel, we can’t afford the meds and Benadryl isn’t helping any other suggestions?

Dogs can develop allergies, just like humans. Try starting her on an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for dogs. It will take about a month to take affect. You should also change her food to one of the die it’s aimed at skin health such as Royal Canin or Nutro. If this does not help, I recommend to discuss other options with your veterinarian.
