Dog diarrhea 24 hrs, active, with mucus. Is it stress or diet?

Pleasseee help! My dog has had diarrhea for about 24 hours now! I just recently gave her some rice to see if that would help. she hasn't lost any energy, that I know of.. her gums look a little pinkish but nothing crazy. she's still playing, still eating here and there, and drinking a little bit of water. We did just move, so I'm wondering if it's just from stress of moving, the peanut butter we give her or the change in water maybe? It's a yellowish just loose stool with like a coating /mucus. Pet's info: Dog | Collie smooth-coated | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 1 month old | 48 lbs

Poor Riley Mae! The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including any new treats, bacterial over growth, parasites or other even organ disease. Stress induced diarrhea will generally resolve within 24 hours. If the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible.
