My 13-week puppy is small. Does she need another DAPPV shot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 24 days old | 12.1 lbs

hello, I took sugar to the emergency vet a couple of weeks ago because she was vomiting and we found out she ingested cat litter. she is fine now. while i was there, the emergency vet said that 13 weeks old was too young for her last set of shots and that i should get her another round of shots. im just wanting a second opinion because she is so small. shes about 4 lbs. she had her shots at 7 weeks, 10 weeks, and 13 weeks. should i get her another dappv?

For adequate immunity to develop, Sugar should receive her last set of vaccinations between 16-20 weeks regardless of size. Vaccination manufacturers will not guarantee protection if vaccinations are not finished between 16-20 weeks of age. She will be absolutely fine to have her vaccines at her size. I would ensure her last DAPPV is given between 16-20 weeks of age. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
