My puppy has bald spots and no fur, but isn't itchy. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 19 days old | 5 lbs

My puppy has patches where there's no fur, it doesn't seem to itch or anything, had a scab from a pimple like bump and when it fell there was no fur.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There is a possibility Colt has a skin mite called demodex (mange). These mites are microscopic and don’t cause the pet to scratch. I recommend taking him to a vet where they can scrape his skin and look for the mite with a microscope. They can also look for a secondary bacterial infection from the mite. Once they have a diagnosis they can prescribe him the correct medications to treat his skin. Good luck and kisses to Colt!

    Thank you for submitting your question regarding Scar. I worry about an overgrowth of mites known as demodex causing his hairloss. This is a common cause of bald spots in young dogs. He will need to see his veterinarian for a skin scrape to determine if this is the source of his symptoms. I hope this information helps!
