Why are my cat's back legs weak and he's pooping while lying down?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 23 days old | 6 lbs

Hi, I was just needing help identifying what could be wrong with my cat. He is weak in his back legs and has been pooping while laying down , like it's just slipping out of him. His breathing is normal, he has an appetite, he's drinking normally, gums are pink, his inner eyelids arent inflamed or anything, the only issue is incontinence and lameness in his back legs. I can't get to a vet tonight, as there is no 24 hour clinic.

Poor Loki. He could have injured his back or hips causing these problems. This cannot wait until the morning. If there isn't an ER vet in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck.
