Hello, sorry to hear about Scooter. It appears that he has a superficial skin infection in his inguinal regeion. Causes for this include allergies (food or environment) or fleas most commonly. If Scooter is very itchy, then he is likely making it worse by scratching it. Scooter will likely need allergy medications and antibiotics to treat his skin infection. Additionally, determining if he has environmental allergies, food allergies, or fleas is important as this is the most efficient way to eliminate his scratching. Please have Scooter evaluated soon so that he may be prescribed medications to treat his infection. Hope this helps and best of luck.
