Hello. Our lily continues to have itchy issues. We've taken her to a vet, switched her food to a salmon sweet potato Costco dry kibble... but shes still so itch under her paws and around her neck. We are in a very tight situation financially as our condo has been flooded and we have to pay for accommodations and food that wasnt expected so I'm extremely stressed out because right now we can not afford.to go to a vet.... is there anything I can do? Probiotics maybe? Allergy meds? Any supplement?

Probiotics, antihistamines and an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for pets may help but they may not cure the condition. When you can, have Lily re-examined by the veterinarian. I recommend to conduct a proper food trial with a prescription hydrolyzed protein diet. This is the best and only way to accurately rule out food allergies as the cause of itching. Other possibilities include environmental allergies and thyroid conditions. I hope this helps and your situation resolved quickly.

Hi, It may be that Lilly just has allergies and that's why she itching. I would start with giving her a bath with oatmeal/aloe shampoo and seeing if this helps. There are not many things we can get from dogs. Dogs can have parasitic skin infections but again, these aren't typically contagious. I would start with the bath and if that doesn't help it would be best to have a vet check Lilly for allergies, fleas and other causes of itchiness in dogs. Best wishes to you and Lilly.
