Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | neutered | 4 years and 6 months old | 15.432358353 lbs

Hello, i have took Sooky to the vet , he said he had kidney problems , after that i consulting another vet he had a different opinion that sooky did not suffer from any disease. This diagnosis was out of Iraq now I can not travel right now , so I give him dry food allocated to kidneys and i mixed with dry food that is not dedicated to kidneys, but low protein rate What is your opinion ?? If he has no problems in kidneys ,does that affect him negatively to him?? Thanks...

This should be fine to do. Low protein is good for kidney disease but they also need low phosphorus. If he does not have kidney disease that should be OK too. So check the diets. I really don't understand the diagnosis. Kidney disease is very easy to diagnosis with simple blood testing. Can you post again with the blood testing results so we can help you better?
