My dog ate a pork chop bone. What are the risks and what should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 5 days old | 65 lbs

My 7 month old alaskan shepherd got ahold of a pork chop and I'm afraid he either ate or swallowed the bone.

That is a concern. Do NOT induce vomiting at home. You can take Eivan to a vet now to have vomiting induced, or you can monitor him. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, blood in his poop, anorexia, or lethargy, take him into a vet immediately. Best of luck.
