Why is my cat sleeping more, sneezing, and has persistent diarrhea?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

I have a cat that I think is sick. His name is Gris he’ll be 3 yrs old in August. He’s been sleeping a lot more than usual lately. He sneezes quite frequently and he’s had diarrhea that won’t go away. He’s well hydrated and his diet has bee the same since I’ve had him.

Poor Gris. When pets have diarrhea beyond a few days, they need to see the veterinarian. It is common that the bacterial populations will shift and make the problem continue regardless of the initial cause. Most of these pets will need antibiotics, probiotics and a bland diet. He should also be tested for parasites to see if that is the cause of the diarrhea. The sneezing may not be related to the diarrhea. Sneezing can be caused by viral infections and allergies most commonly. I recommend to have him examined within the next 24 hours. Best of luck.
