Is my 3-month-old German Shepherd puppy too thin while growing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 3 months and 17 days old

Hey Doc ! So kasper is 3 months old puppy , since i brought it him home I've been giving him the food i get from my vet . But i just noticed that he's a little bit thin , he keeps getting taller tho and his legs are stronger but still thin . Is there any supplies or food i can add to his food schedule or should i keep it the same ? Is this just a phase of his growth as a german shepherd puppy ?

Puppies do go through some growth phases and can go through lanky periods. This is not unusual or anything to be concerned with. Being thin while they are developing is beneficial. It is however important to increase the amount of food you are feeding as Kasper gets bigger. If he is looking thin, it's likely time to increase the amount of food you are feeding. I hope this helps.
