Cat only eats dry food after deworming, avoids wet. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7.716 lbs

Cat eating very little after deworming ( Bendazole ) - now she eats only dry food but completely avoids wet food ( her favourite ). Apart from this, rest of her behaviour is completely normal - plays during playtime, runs around house with lightning speed, goes for walks. What can I do about it ? How can I make her eat wet food as the way she used to ? Do I need to worry ? See a vet ?

I wouldn't worry about your pet preferring dry over wet food. This sounds like her preferences have simply changed. There are no medical concerns here. : ) You can install cat water fountains to encourage more water drinking since she now eats dry food only. Best of luck to you and your fur baby Joio. Take care. : )
