My dog keeps throwing up but acts normal. When should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 9 years and 1 month old | 75 lbs

My dog has vomited 6 times today. She seems to have kept down breakfast followed by 4 bouts of vomiting bile/foam through out the day, then after a treat, again after a bland dinner of rice/chicken (over an hr after). Shes drinking and acting normally, interested in food, gums normal color. Not sure about poop. Shes not the type to eat nonfoods. Early this morning I did notice her stomach gurgling. If its physiological, is it common to show no other symptoms? Is this considered an emergency?

I'm concerned by how much Shylow is vomiting, and it sounds like she isn't keeping down food. If she did have a GI illness, yes she could show no other signs. I think she should see a vet first thing in the morning. Best of luck.
