Found a cold, weak kitten. Should I let it sleep or keep it awake?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I found a kitten that was so still I thought it was dead. It looked like a dog or something had used it as a thot. Her fur we all wet. As I walked by I saw her mouth move just a little and a very faint meow came out. I immediately reached down to get her. She was so cold she should have been dead. My family is trying to bring her back to health. I was wondering though. . . Do we let her fall asleep or try and keep her awake ? I do not have the money to take her to a vet.

I am so sorry to hear about your kitten. I would definitely try to warm her up ( if wet you can use a blow dryer on a low setting a safe distance fromher skin and you can put a towel in the dryer and then wrap her in it, but don't jiggle her/try to rouse her forecefully as this isn't going to be of any benefit to her. If you cannot afford to care for her then I would recommend relinquishing her to a rescue or shelter who can as they may have the resources to provide veterinary care which it sounds like she is in desperate need of.
