When to transition my 1-month-old kitten to food and trim nails?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 9 days old

My kitten is 1 month old now . She still drinks mother's milk.. Her teeth has come out. When should we switch to kitten food. And is there anythg else do I need to feed other than mother's milk? And should I cut their nails?

Normally, the kitten weaning process begins at about four weeks of age.If the mother is there, you can start trying to offer kittens food and slowly she will push her away from her. You can start cutting nails from 4-6weeks of age (so she will get used to it).
