Is epsom salt treatment safe for a goldfish with a swollen side?

Goldfish with swollen side. I read that it might be able to be treated with epsom salt. Did not want to do without checking on the accuracy first.

Thanks for reaching out about your goldfish. Espom salts treat the symptom but not the disease. A veterinary visit is recommended as usually this is a sign of fluid accumulation, caused by heart, kidney, liver or gonadal problems. Good luck.
