Pet's info: Dog | German Shorthaired Pointer | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 23 days old | 17 lbs
My 17lb twelve week old German shorthair pup layer in a Antbed and has around ten bites on his stomach. He doesn’t seem to be in pain but can I give him Benadryl if he starts itching?

Poor silly Colt! Ant bites shouldn't be too much of a problem for him. I wouldn't worry about medication unless he starts to itch excessively and scratches or chews at his skin. In that case, the dose of Benadryl is 1 mg per pound of body weight, given 2-3 times a day. Most drug store diphenhydramine tablets are 25 mg, which is the size used for a 25-pound dog or you can use the children's liquid. Be sure if you use liquid that it does not also contain a decongestant, that it's only active ingredient is diphenhydramine.
