My cat is sick, vomiting, not eating. Could it be pest poisoning?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | 2 years old | 6.5 lbs

I need an emergency help as there is no any vet for cat in the area I'm staying right now. I am a microbiologist. My cat Allie is very sick. Symptoms she is showing; 1. Dilated pupils, 2. Vomited in the morning, 3. Feces is not okay. 4. Not eating or drinking, 4. Gasses coming out while vomiting, 5. Heart rate 101 bpm, 6. 80 breaths per minute. Yeasterday I have used deltamethrin as a pest killer in my house. Maybe the food has become contminated some how. She has 5 one month old kittens.

I would be concerned that your cat is having a toxic or other severe reaction, or is very ill/sick and that unfortunately requires immediate medical attention by a veterinarian in person. If you do not have a vet in your area, trying to see if there is a vet nearby that you can get to would be best. If you suspect your cat got into the chemical, bathing can help remove any excess toxin still on the skin to stop it from absorbing more, as well as moving your cat to a well-ventilated area, however if she is already showing symptoms she requires immediate care.
