Puppy wound & red eyes. What dog food is best for allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Bully | Female | 4 months and 6 days old | 25 lbs

Does this look like a wound that could be caused by squeezing through a small opening and other than Diamond dog food what do you recommend I should feed her cuz I think she's getting allergic reaction cuz her eyes are tear ducts started turning red but the redness comes and goes but she still is eating fine but it's been really hot so she kind of hasn't been eating so much I guess but she's active in she's happy-go-lucky still so I don't know

It’s hard to say what is exactly going on here but it does look very inflamed and possibly infected. If thenlesionnhas been there more than 2 days and/or is getting worse and is irritating to Doja I would recommend having it looked at by your veterinarian. She may need antibiotics to help it clear up. As far as food is concerned, I generally recommend Hills, Purina, Royal Canin, Iams or Eukanuba. Since Doja is so young she needs to be on a puppy food as well. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
