What does it mean when a dog has a lump that is very stiff and hard on their neck? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 65 lbs

It is hard to tell from the photos but if it is diffuse swelling and not actually a lump/mass then it is likely from trauma of some sort. You can ice the swelling for 5 minutes 2-3 times per day for the next 2-3 days (if she will let you). If it is causing her pain or the swelling doesn't go down in about 2-3 days then she needs to see a vet.
