My dog drools foamy white stuff on walks. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | 8 years and 1 month old

Cruz drools so much on walks. He seems fine otherwise, and he doesn't drool that way once we are home. But, on walks he drools the whole time. It's foamy white strands that hang from his mouth. Is this normal? Is there a way to prevent it?

Yes, that is normal especially in dogs like Boxers with larger jowls (cheek pouches). There is not anything you can do to stop it. It is just from him taking in all the smells - it's overstimulating his senses. Nothing to worry about.
