Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | neutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 13 lbs
Hi there, I have a 2 year old male dog. I’ve been noticing that every once in awhile I smell this really bad odour for about four days. Doesn’t smell necessarily fishy but like bad eggs. I thought maybe his anal glands but.... he doesn’t rub his bum on the ground, it doesn’t look red, irritated or swollen, it doesn’t seem to be causing discomfort and it doesn’t hurt him when I touch back there. Should I take him to the vet to get checked... or is his stomach just upset?

Even if you don't visually see a problem with the anal glands and he is not scooting that does not mean it isn't the glands. Yes, I would have the vet check the anal glands. If no problem there, it could be gas that is diet related. Even if you haven't changed his food, they can over time develop a sensitivity. Or, if you have started new treats or given human foods it could be that.
