My dog has black spots on their gums. Should I be concerned?

My jack russels gums have small parts that are black , should i worry? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | 10 months and 12 days old

That depends. Many dogs naturally have areas of black gums. If however this is a new development or if you see other signs of disease, it could indicate a tooth infection or melanoma (a cancer).
