Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | 6 lbs
I have a 6 lb Yorkie and put Pet Armor about 4 days ago but it's not working. I bought Soresto collar for small dog. Is it safe to put the collar now or I need to wait. My poor dog still has fleas thanks

To be safe, you should wait 2-3 weeks before switching to a Seresto collar. IN the meantime, treat the environment for fleas. Vacuum everywhere then dispose of the vacuum bag or empty the canister outdoors immediately after. Wash all bedding in the hottest water allowable by fabric. Use an area treatment, such as Indorex or Knockout ES, to kill fleas in the home. A majority of the flea population actually lives off the pet, hopping on to feed then hopping off. Discuss a product to kill adult fleas with your veterinarian. CapStar would be safe to use even if you applied a topical preventive. However, it will only kill adult fleas that are on Tybalt.

You can use Capstar to kill any adult fleas on her. Since she was recently washed though, you will need to wait 2-3 days before applying a topical preventative. The oils in her skin need to build up to effectively spread the topical flea preventative. Capstar can be given daily if you are seeing adult fleas. In the meantime, wash all bedding and vacuum everywhere. Empty the canister or toss the vacuum bag away outdoors immediately afterwards. You can use an area treatment in the house, such as Knockout ES (by Virbac), to prevent reinfestation. Use a monthly preventative for at least 3 consecutive months, but preferably year round.

I recommend purchasing Capstar (available OTC at PetCo) to kill the live fleas as quickly as possible and starting an oral flea/tick preventative such as Nexgard/Simparica or Bravecto (all of these are far more effective than any collar or topical flea product). You may be able to purchase one of these from a vaccine clinic such as vippetcare.com or Vedco.com without paying an office visit fee. Your vet will be able to prescribe a topical steroid/antibiotic ointment or powder such as Dermavet or Neopredef powder that will be more effective than OTC hotspot spray, however the bigger issue is daily vacuuming and laundering your home to remove all the flea eggs that may have already been deposited and will hatch and re-infect Chanel if she is not continuously on monthly oral flea/tick prevention year round. Environmental clean up after a flea infestation is key! Good luck!
