My dog Barney has been eating the same grain-free, pea and potato-based dog food (99.9% vegan) for over two years and has always done well on it. We switched to this food because it helped my other dog's sensitive and itchy skin. However, despite the fact that Barney eats normally, poops normally and behaves normally, he has recently (three or four months) become very, very gassy and it smells foul. I've de-wormed him, so it's not a worm thing, but I can't figure out what could be causing this.

It could still be the food. You could try a different formulation in the same brand and see if it affects the gas. You can also add a doggie probiotic. If neither of these seem to help, I would recommend that Barney get checked out by the vet to see if there is a medical cause for the gas, like IBD, pancreatic disorders, or intestinal parasites that aren't worms (like Giardia).
