My senior dog eats a lot but loses weight and seems confused. Why?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered

My pitt is 13 years old. lately he stops in midstride just stands there and then goes from room to room and then comes back sometimes he does this a few times. he is pushing doors closed then can;t get out. he is eating like crazy but not gaining weight he has lost some weight. he lies in doorways or in places where you have to step over him. he also twists his body into a half circle is my dog dying???

These are all concerning signs in an older dog and I would recommend a vet check and blood panel to investigate for underling medical conditions such as liver disease or diabetes which can lead to confusion and weight loss.
