Can I use my other cat's prescription eye drops for my kitten?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 14 days old | 2 lbs

I had one of my cats to the vet a year ago and he got better using some eye drops. His offspring who is about 6 or 7 weeks old is showing same symptoms, which was an ulcer in the eye from cat herpes. The medication is ofloxacin, can i use his dads eye drops for the kitten?

I would not use another cat's prescription as it may not be the same condition for your kitten. It is best to have the eye examined by your vet so they can rule out any issues such as injury to the eye, infections, etc that may require different treatments.
