My dog threw up after turmeric. Is it too much? What should I do?

Hi. Angel had a ruptured tumor around her liver 4 weeks ago. I have been giving her Yunnan Baio pills twice a day to help control the bleeding. Her Vet also prescribed Denamarin once a day. She had been doing pretty well. But I made turmeric paste and have her some last night. She threw up a little later night and twice this morning. I'm wondering if it is because of to much tumeric?? She did this once before when I have her turmeric. Can you suggest what I do now besides see a vet?

Hi, and thanks for your question. From your description I think this vomiting episode is likely to be related to the turmeric paste, which I would recommend to stop. As a first approach, I would suggest as well to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
