Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I'm sorry to hear that Jax got into the french onion dip. While onions are toxic to dogs, it requires a large quantity of real onions to cause a problem to dogs. Signs of onion toxicity include lethargy, pale gums or red-brown gums, vomiting, or drooling. If Jax is still acting normally and it has been over 2-3 hours from the time of ingestion, he should be OK. He may have an upset stomach and have some diarrhea for the next couple days, but he shouldn't experience any serious complications. If you are ever concerned, I recommend contacting your nearest veterinarian to see if Jax can be seen. I hope this is helpful!
