Dog spay surgery: Should I worry about bloody cough or incision?

Do I need to use Bactene or something on my dogs incision where she has been spayed? Its been 3-4 days since surgery. And she coughed up a small amount of bloody mucous is that something I should be concerned with? I adopted her yesterday so I dont know that much history. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 42 lbs

Generally it is not recommended to put anything on the incision. It should heal unassisted. I recommend to call your veterinarian or the humane society where she came from right away. It could be related to many things from an infection to a wound in mouth or throat.
