My budgie seems to have a paralysed leg he can still move it somewhat but hasn’t been using it I can move it around but the toes and feet feel as if they are dead. he keeps cleaning the injured leg and pulling at it with his beak. He was fine the day before and then all the sudden went like this. He is eating and drinking fine and still trying to move about his cage. What could be wrong with him ?

Thanks for reaching out about Pablo. This could either be a leg injury (fracture, luxation, neurologic) or an enlarged organ (kidney, testicle) placing pressure on nerve to that leg. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. For now, remove perches and place a thick towel on the bottom of the cage on which to stand. Place food and water within reach. Good luck.

Thanks for reaching out about Arko. Aging budgies can get enlarged gonads or kidneys that can place pressure on the nerves going to the legs. A veterinary visit is recommended for assistance with a diagnostic/treatment plan. Good luck.
