My older Japanese quail is pecking the new one. What should I do?

i have two japanese quails ... one is 5 months old and the other one i bought just yesterday... the elder one keeps pecking the other when both are put in a cage...what should i do

Thanks for reaching out. Not all get along, especially if both males. They should be kept separated for now as these interactions can sometimes be very aggressive and fatal. Place in cages next to each other to acclimate. Good luck.
