Poor Chaw! Unfortunately it's impossible to know the cause of the diarrhea by looks alone. The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including a change in diet, bacterial over growth, parasites or other even parvovirus. Chaw is very small and I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. Small puppies can become very sick very fast and so need aggressive, early intervention. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. I hope Chaw starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions!

Poor Chai! It’s takes about a month for any diet changes to take effect and during that time you should not give her any treats or human food as a reaction to one of these may be the cause. A food that many pets do well on in general is Royal Canin and I recommend to try this food if you have not already. You must give it Diet 1 month to know if it works. Also make sure to keep your veterinarian updated. Some of these pets need probiotics and antibiotics. Also make sure your pup has been checked for giardia. If you can’t find a diet that helps, try a hydrolyzed protein diet. Lastly, if your vet thinks it could be IBD, Chai may need steroids. I hope she starts feeling better quickly and please feel free to post any additional questions.
