My budgie is vomiting seeds, green poop & urine. Is it liver disease?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Female

My 8 months female budgie is vomiting undigested seeds and pooping very dark green feces and the urine is also green. The urates are slightly yellow but it may be because I am giving her very little to eat. When she eats seeds she vomits so I don't give her seeds now. I am scared that is it not liver disease?

Thanks for reaching out about Piku and including photos. Vomitig can be caused by many things, of which liver disease is one. Ingestion of toxic compounds (zinc, lead, other foreign bodies), renal or liver disease, some viral disease. A veterinary visit is recommended, today, as small birds can not go long without eating as they have few energy reserves. Good luck.
