Why is my senior conure tilting its head to the left? Ear issue?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Conure | Male | 27 years old

I have a 27 yr old Maroon Bellied Conure. He has aging issues - seizures, falling off perch, loss of muscle mass, stumbling, etc. Have taken him to vet. But wondering what a new symptom means - he constantly tilts his head to left - what does this mean? Could it be eyesight or hearing issues?

Head tilt is usually related to neurologic or balance issues. or sometimes issues such as inner ear infections, and if Moe is already having balance/neuro problems it could be related to this already ongoing condition. However, with any new symptom that appears, it is best to let your veterinarian know in case they want to test for any additional issues or change treatment plans to address it.
