Are reptile heat lamps safe for keeping newborn puppies warm?

Just wanting to know am I able to use a reptile heat lamp for newborn puppies??

As long as its placed at a distance that prevents them from potentially bumping into it and burning themselves, then yes, you can. However, its often not needed, especially in the summer.,as long as momma dog is right there are they are in a protected area with bedding/blankets/and snuggling together.

    You have to be EXTREMELY careful using any external heat source on puppies. Since they can’t move away from the heat if it’s too hot and they can’t regulate their body temperature well at this age it can be deadly. Is the mother not doing a good job? Are they housed outside? Please post again with more information as to why you think you need the extra heat. Then we can help more.
