My ferret is sad. Should I get him a companion? Male or female ferret?

My ferret, Bentley shows a few symptoms of depression and I was considering getting him a mate I was wondering if this is a good idea and if I should get a female or male (Bentley is male). Thank you. Pet's info: Small Animal | Ferret | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 8 days old

I think this would be a great idea. Ferrets do commonly like to have a house mate. Since Bentley is still young it should be fairly easy to introduce a new ferret to the home. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck!
