Poor Sophia! The loose stool and blood could be due to many conditions including the medication, the worms, a viral infection, bacterial over growth, parasites (coccidia and giardia) or even something more sinister. Unfortunately it's impossible to know which one for sure caused the problem. Any time blood is present however, you should be concerned since it indicates severe inflammation and disruption of the intestinal mucosa. Additionally, certain types of worms and parasites can infect human. It's very important to know the exact parasite status of pets to prevent humans from being infected. I recommend to have your pup examined by the veterinarian today. Try to remember to take in a stool sample. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth and then give appropriate treatment. Other diagnostics may be recommended as well. Many times a bland diet can help until the stool is normal. I hope Sophia starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions!

Rose could have diarrhea from intestinal worms and that can cause blood, but I'd also be concerned about parvovirus. Given her age and the fact that she's had diarrhea for three days and now there is blood in it, she has to see a vet immediately. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Have her examined by a veterinarian. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. The bloody stool may be due to infection or stress. Regarding her vaccines, she may have had the first series but she will need boosters at 12 and 16 weeks of age. Discuss an appropriate vaccine protocol with your vet based on Karli's lifestyle and risk of exposure.
