My kitten's eye cleared from infection, but still squints. Is it okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 2 days old

My kitten had extreme discharge, protuberant, in one eye that would glue closed. I gave her neomycin for 2 weeks and did warm eye compresses daily and it cleared up. Now her eyes look normal, not protuberant, no discharge but is slighly squinty still in that eye. Is that concerning?

It’s possible that Pepper could have an ulcer or scar tissue associated with the infection. I would have her examined by a vet to see if she needs additional medications and to determine why she is still squinting.
