What color are Ticks? I have a mostly Black dog; and a Blonde dog. The Blonde dog has sort of short hair, but it is quite thick. How do I find a tick on her especially? Do Ticks grow quickly, so you can feel them on a dog's hair? Thick hair?? Are Ticks itchy, so a dog would scratch them, when bitten? Thank you!

Ticks are usually black, brown or grey depending on the species, the age and the sex of the tick. There are 5 places that you will most commonly find ticks on dogs however, they can be anywhere on the body. * Groin Area * Under the tail; around the anus * Between the toes * Under the collar; around the neck * In and around the ears There are many YouTube videos on how to check your dog for ticks. I suggest you watch some of those for ideas: ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2mJybGBRzw ) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o91pMYYkNjE )
