Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 4 years and 6 months old | 13 lbs
Hi! My three year old Maltese has been experiencing diarrhea for about five days now, but is acting otherwise healthy and happy. She has been eating here and there, but this isn’t too out of the ordinary for her even when she is feeling well. There is no blood, but she did vomit once over the course of the few days she’s experienced these symptoms. I am considering taking her into to be examined, but Wasn’t sure if this is something to be concerned about or if it may resolve itself. Thank you!

Hi, and thanks for your question. These persistent signs could be compatible with an inflammation infection of the gastrointestinal system and surrounding organs (like pancreas and liver). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.
