My cat's paw is infected and peeling. What home remedies can I try?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 months and 18 days old | 5 lbs

Cat paws infected, peeling. No known injury. Manually pulled puss out. Tried to soak in epson salt, she didn't cooperate. What can I do besides take to vet?

You can try disinfection with different solution like hibiscrub or betadine ones. Unfortunately antibiotics seems to be needed, so I would recommend an immediate check up if disinfection is not working as infection could be a major risk. A picture of the lesion could help to determine underlying cause more specifically.
