My dog has a spot on her chest that doesn't bother her. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 30 lbs

We noticed this on her chest about 2 weeks ago. She is absolutely fine. Doesn't react when it is touched. Doesn't seem to know it's there. I actually thought it was the pigment of her skin. Is this something concerning?

It’s hard for me to tell from your picture if this is raised. If so, it could be a skin mass like a histiocytoma or cyst. If it is flat it could be a small hot spot or area of skin infection. I’d recommend having your vet examine it in person for a definitive diagnosis.
