My dog swallowed a raw bone. Induce vomiting or watch for signs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered

My 90 lbs labrador just swallowed a raw uncooked beef bone approximately 5 cm in circumference. Should I try to induce vomiting? Or just wait to see if he has an obstruction?

Do not induce vomiting, the bone could get stuck in Cane's throat. Watch him for signs of obstruction, which include vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, lethargy, and blood in the poop. If you see any of those signs, have him seen by a vet immediately. Best of luck.
