My puppy isn't pooping after diarrhea meds. Is she constipated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 25 days old | 1.45 lbs

My puppy is just running 2 months and she has been treating with metronidazole and norfloxin syrup after her diarrhea and vomit. Sge us eating well but not pooing for 1 and half days. She has fast heartbeat, seems little lethargy so is there anything to worry about?

No there is nothing to worry about, she was vomiting and had diarrhea so she probably didn't get much in her intestines in the past few days, meaning it will take a few days to start having stools again. Metronidazole is also known to cause slight constipation, if she stopped vomiting and is now eating food normally she should be fine.
