My dog chewed nail glue. Is dried glue on his fur near his lip toxic?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 4 days old | 12.4 lbs

My oldest niece had left glue that's used for nails on the floor and my dog had grabbed it to chew on it. When, I finally was able to free it from his mouth I noticed a little bit of dried glue on his fur near his lip.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Since it has been a couple days since this occurred, I Smokey will likely be just fine if he has not shown any abnormal clinical signs yet! Things to monitor for include vomiting, decreased appetite, lethargy, and increased drooling. I hope this is helpful.
