I have a yorkie that is e pecting puppies any day now. She first bred on March 22nd and bred everyday for 10 days. I calculated her due date to be may 24-28. She hasn't had the puppies and doesn't seem to be in any distress. Her temp is 100.0 shes is on day 70 of the pregnancy now. Is it possible that since she bred for 10days that she was ovulating later in the heat and I have have her due date wrong?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, it is possible that you have the due date wrong. The gestation.period is typically 62 to 65 days but that is just an average. Some dogs will have them sooner and some will have them later. 70 days however seems a bit long. If she conceived on the 10th day of breeding then today would only be day 60. I would not be overly worried at this time.
