Can my 10-week puppy play in the backyard after second shots?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Male | unneutered

My puppy just got his second round of shots. He’s 10 weeks old. Is it okay if I let him outside in my backyard supervised of course to play and hang out? Just as a break from being indoors all day. I know not to take him out to public places and such but what about my private yard where no other dogs have been in years.

That sound be fine as long as no other dogs, coyotes or foxes have been in the yard. In general, a dog free, isolated back yard is fairly safe. The main concern is generally parvo which can survive in the soil for up to a year. Please feel free to post any additional questions.
