Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 7 years and 9 months old | 38 lbs
Hi. My German shepherd is almost 9 years old. She was never neutered as we weren't aware of the health risks and has never had pups, found out she had an infection in her womb which she got surgery to remove. She spent 24 hours in care and she's home now, apparently she was fine during the night and eating etc. She also has lumps which they addressed as breast cancer and said it wouldn't spread, however, I'm still concerned. In a month she will be back to get them removed but is she in pain?

I am happy to hear that Shakira did well with the surgery. She should be on pain medications for her postop care. Watch her for any signs of pain such as a reluctance to move, vocalization or isolation. Otherwise it is not likely that the masses themselves are causing her pain. Definitely have them removed after she is recovered from her pyometra surgery. I hope she does just as well for that surgery as she did this one. Best of luck.
